This interdisciplinary conference seeks to explore the interplay between a variety of visual and textual media in the German-speaking world from 1945 to the present day, including text, film, art, architecture, photography, sculpture and music. Areas which the conference hopes to explore include the following:

• Adaptations and borrowings
• The blurring and crossing of interdisciplinary boundaries
• Cultural packaging and re-packaging
• Issues of medial friction between different art forms
